At the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management, we take great pride in molding today’s youth into tomorrow’s World Class Engineers, capable of handling complex technical challenges innovatively and confidently – all for the benefit of the Country, Industry and Society.
The Students are trained on various aspects in the field of Industrial Engineering and Management, through a curriculum which has been designed taking into account the various requirements collected from Alumini, Industry as well as Society. New Additions incorporating Changes in Knowledge, Technology and Industry Standards are done.
We offer the following academic programs.
- B.E. – Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) (4 years)
- M.Tech – Product Design and Manufacturing (PDM) (3 years – Part Time)
Apart from the academic curriculum, the students are encouraged and expected to participate in Projects, Seminars, Extension Lecture Series of the Department, Industrial Visits, career guidance as well as Departmental and College Fests, apart from other programmes.
The Department Faculty are the pillars of strength of the Department, and with their attitude and efforts have helped the Students achieve Excellent results.

The IEM Department is now 35 years old. The intake is 60 students. The department offers undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering and Management. It also runs an M.Tech course in Product Design and Manufacturing (PDM) of the VTU on part-time basis. The Department is a research center under VTU leading to MSc and PhD.IEM provides thrust on productivity, Management Engineering and Software releated curriculum.The department houses suitable labs to give our students a competitive edge, enable them to fit in as the key link between technical personnel and management in any organization and thus contribute to the organizations' growth and development.
The Department Labs houses top of the line computers to aid students in CAD/CAM, ERP, modelling, drafting and simulation. The department also has its own library and a student activity center. The department has a forum called as Industrial Engineering Club (INDEC). The Department has qualified staff, all of whom are PG holders as well as four doctorates in various Industrial Engineering streams. The students joining this department will be trained to perform in Engineering Management, Production and Software based Industry practices.
